Tater Tot Casserole

Easy Delish Comfort Food

**The traditional version of this requires that you to cook and brown the beef before you prepare the casserole for the oven; this recipe skips that and streamlines the old recipe so it is a true 'one pan recipe'**

Ingredients:

1     lb Ground Beef (80/20 or leaner)
1     lb bag of Tater Tots
1     Can Green Beans
1     Can Condensed Cream of Chicken Soup
American or Cheddar Cheese

Key Tip:  Use a casserole dish that is fairly deep and on the smaller side.  We use a pottery dish we picked up years ago.  Something like 9x5x5.  Dena thinks a 2 qt round casserole dish would work too.

Instructions:

Take uncooked burger and crumble and press over the bottom of a greased casserole dish (this is why the size of the dish is important, if it is a bigger pan, such as 9x13, the uncooked burger won't easily spread to cover the bottom.)

Spread cream of chicken soup over the burger evenly (do not add water to the soup).

Drain Green Beans and put over cream of chicken.

Add cheese layer over green beans.  (About 1 cup if you use shredded cheddar)

Cover with Tater Tots

Bake uncovered at 450 for 1 hr.

Remove, let cool and set up for 10-15 minutes.  Sprinkle additional shredded cheese on at this time if you want.
